Use of Hydrilyte™ to replace a diesel generation powered mining operation with a fully renewable microgrid cost effectively, Carbon 280, 2022. A model of the Hydrilyte™ system for storage and transportation of hydrogen was developed within the Spine open source energy system modelling framework. Using a Spine model of a renewable microgrid, a capacity expansion study was carried out to demonstrate how diesel generation could be economically replaced by a fully renewable, zero-carbon microgrid using wind, solar, electrolysis, Hydrilyte™ and fuel cells.
